For the second day of birthday celebrations, we headed up to Baltimore with Grandma and Papa to meet Uncle Bill, Aunt Susan and Cousin Anna. We had tickets for a special Pirate cruise, but that part was a surprise.
So being the mean parents we are, when Cooper saw the ship go by in the harbor and begged for a ride, we told him we'd have to do it some other time.
But we couldn't keep it up for long - so over lunch we delivered the exciting news to he and Avery with some special accessories.
First stop, pirate name assignments, vest and sash fitting, and optional tattoos.
...and of course another safety presentation (I don't think it was Coast Guard approved: "Arrgh! There be no falling overboard, and no shoving other pirates overboard!")
Soon we were under attack by the dreaded Mad Dog.
I think Cooper thought the hundreds of thousands of cheering spectators lining the edge of the harbor were there for him.
But by some accidentally-great planning on our part, it was also the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner. So Cooper also got the Blue Angels for his birthday (!!!).
Once adjusting to dry land again, it was off to Susan and Bill's house for dinner, more cake and more presents.
Thanks to everyone for what had to be one of the most amazing birthdays of all time.
