My First Birthday Party!!

The Party Dress

Avery was kind enough to humor us and wear a vintage party dress for her big day. This was the same dress I wore at my first birthday party! Don't worry, the bonnet came off almost immediately, and the little lady got down to some serious dancing (see below).

The Dancing

As the party heated up, Avery wowed everyone with her dance moves. This included her latest skill - walking! Two days before her party she decided the time had finally come for a new mode of travel, and with many rocky starts and some very funny shoulder-balance-maneuvers, she is now slowly learning to spend most of her time upright.

The Cake

Avery was given a beautiful apron from her Aunt Melinda to use during cake time. It was perfect! We missed out on pictures of the singing and the candle blowing, but will post some of those later. She loved her cake....she quickly scooped it into her mouth
saying "Mmmm! MMMM!" the whole time. As you can see from the picture below,
Aunt Kelly looks a little nervous Avery's race to eat her cake!

The Gifts
The little lady received so many wonderful gifts - thank you everyone! And a special thank you to Aunt Vicki and Uncle Sean, who sent along the cutest set of summer clothing any child has ever had. She is going to be the best dressed kid at playgroup this summer. She also got her first set of Leggos from Grandma and Grandpa, and she loves them!

The Love
Our little one was lucky enough to have a wonderful crowd at her party. Her family came from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Nevada to celebrate with us. She had lots of quality time with everyone (although her mom and dad were a little too buys that day to capture it all on film). Thank you to everyone who came, she had a wonderful time
and her dad and I have lots of great memories of her first birthday.
